Senior NetApp Resident Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused Senior NetApp Resident Engineer to join our residency team supporting a large enterprise customer. This position is ideal for a seasoned NetApp storage professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and can build trusted relationships while delivering exceptional operational support and technical expertise.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership of work from start to finish, operates effectively with minimal direction, and has a proven track record supporting large-scale enterprise environments. This individual will serve as a trusted technical resource, partnering with multiple business units to drive operational excellence, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver successful outcomes.

  3. Dallas, TX

Please note: This is a hybrid residency position requiring onsite presence approximately 2-3 days per week. Candidates must already reside in one of the target markets. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.


NETAPP RESIDENT ENGINEERS AT TSP TYPICALLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and relationship builder within a large enterprise environment.
  • Deliver day-to-day operational support for enterprise storage infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage, performance, and infrastructure issues.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, capacity planning, and optimization activities.
  • Support multiple business units and stakeholder groups across a large enterprise organization.
  • Independently manage technical initiatives from identification through resolution with minimal oversight.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear updates and recommendations.
  • Design, implement, support, and optimize NetApp storage solutions.
  • Leverage automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining the ability to work autonomously.
  • Continuously expand technical knowledge and maintain expertise in evolving technologies and best practices.

THE IDEAL PERSON FOR THIS ROLE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE SUCH AS:

  • 12+ years of enterprise infrastructure and Netapp storage experience, preferably supporting Fortune 500 organizations.
  • Demonstrated success supporting large enterprise customers in complex, distributed IT environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of NetApp ONTAP.
  • Strong expertise across enterprise storage and data management technologies, including:
    • SAN (Storage Area Networks)
    • NAS (Network Attached Storage)
    • NFS
    • Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
    • NetApp StorageGRID
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code technologies, including:
    • Ansible
    • Terraform
    • Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Extensive enterprise troubleshooting and operational support experience.
  • Experience performing storage performance analysis and optimization.
  • Strong customer-facing consulting and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage expectations and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and execute with limited direction.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supporting Fortune 500 enterprise environments.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and cloud-based storage solutions.
  • Experience supporting multiple business units and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working in highly dynamic, fast-paced operational environments.
