We are seeking a Nutanix Engineer with strong hands-on experience with the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and with Kubernetes operational experience.
This role can work primarily remote, but will need to be on-site in Plano, TX, for the first 1-2 weeks of ramp-up, with occasional site visits once or twice per quarter.
JOB DUTIES AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:
- Kubernetes Operational Experience
- Multi-cluster management
- Production upgrades and patching
- Troubleshooting cluster issues (pods, nodes, control plane)
- Cluster Lifecycle Management
- Experience with Cluster API (CAPI) or similar lifecycle tooling
- Management vs workload cluster understanding
- GitOps Experience
- FluxCD or ArgoCD
- Managing configuration via Git
- Handling drift and change control
- Monitoring and Observability
- Prometheus / Grafana
- Logging stack (Loki/FluentBit or similar)
- Alerting and incident response
- Nutanix Integration
- AHV/Prism Knowledge/Experience
- Understanding of Nutanix CSI and persistent storage
- VM + infrastructure troubleshooting
- Backup and DR
- Kubernetes backup (Velero or similar)
- Disaster recovery planning
- Automation and IaC
- Terraform / Ansible
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code mindset
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Nutanix certifications (NCP, NCM, NCAP) are highly desirable
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD) are a strong plus
- Experience with hybrid/multi-cloud Kubernetes solutions is a bonus
- Previous experience in a resident, consulting, or professional services role is preferred
