Scope of Work

We are looking for a motivated remote delivery engineer to join our storage operations team to perform daily operations management for an enterprise customer. This position is an initial 5 months with a likelihood to renew and will provide support 100% remotely.

In this role, you will provide support to our customers by responding to incidents, working on service requests, problem management and storage infrastructure improvements. Experience in supporting a varied clientele is essential as is a strong understanding of NetApp storage-based technologies.

These are the job duties and responsibilities of a NetApp Storage Consultant:

  • Perform daily monitoring and diagnostics of the StorageGRID environment
  • Serve as an assigned advisor responsible for understanding the Customer's environment and representing the Customer's support needs to the GSC
  • Assist with technical support matters in cooperation with a NetApp Technical Support Engineer when required
  • Coordinate GSC customer service personnel and field resources to solve the onsite problems

You should be able to handle everything above because you have experience like:

  • Experience with NetApp Object Base Storage would be preferred (Deploying and administering NetApp StorageGRID, troubleshooting performance issues, performing firmware and operating system upgrades, using E-Series Storage management tools, Cisco UCS servers and VMware software)
  • Proficient understanding of NetApp Storage concepts, related management tools and related Storage technologies including monitoring and troubleshooting, administration, and replication technologies
  • Strong understanding of Storage protocols and technologies (CIFS, Fibre Channel switching and networks)
  • Understanding of managed services delivery
  • A thorough understanding of other components in the infrastructure stack – compute, virtualization, and networks: (NetApp/Cisco Flex pod architecture, Cisco UCS platform, VMWare vSphere, and SLES Operating Systems)
  • Working knowledge of monitoring platforms, WANs, SANs, backup and disaster recovery platforms
  • Linux server and related Operating Systems technologies including monitoring and troubleshooting, administration, replication technologies, security hardening and performance, would be advantageous
  • Experience in writing basic PowerShell/Python scripts would be beneficial
  • Strong customer communication and documentation skills
  • The ability to build and maintained strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Positive, proactive, team-orientated attitude with a flexible and innovative approach to work
