Warrendale, Pennsylvania - 2022-09-14 Engineer I, Test – 12 Month Contract-Onsite

These are the job duties and responsibilities of an Engineer I, Test:

  • Develop and execute Evaluation Tests, Engineering Verification Tests (EVT), DoE, Design Verification Tests (DVT), and Reliability Tests (RT) for medical equipment/systems with the assistance of other test engineers, interns, and technicians
  • Write product test plans and identify test methods
  • Evaluate test results, investigate product test failures, analyze performance problems, assist with determining root causes, recommend corrective actions, and write test reports
  • Design and implement manual and automated test solutions at a system level and sub-system level to support the testing of electromechanical assemblies
  • Participate in failure modes and effect analysis (FMEA) of system level and sub-system level designs to identify high-risk areas requiring testing
  • Direct support of customers, to include travel to off-site locations as necessary to evaluate field issues
  • Willingness to travel internationally to suppliers and vendors to assist with test development and production ramp up
  • Assist with root cause analysis on electronic or mechanical hardware assemblies
  • Maintain a safe laboratory work space, upholding all EHS guidelines and standards

You should be able to handle everything above because you have experience like:

  • Ability to read schematics and mechanical assembly drawings as well as understand their functions
  • Able to effectively problem solve and manage multi-task assignments
  • Display an understanding of automated test systems including data acquisition systems
  • Some experience in Solid Works, AutoCad or ProE
  • Some experience with any of: C++, C#, LabView, LabWindows, Python
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently as well as building strong cross-functional collaborative relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • BS in an engineering field of discipline
  • Entry-level experience working with electro-mechanical equipment
    • This can be internship or contract work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated test systems including data acquisition systems
  • Experience with FMEA process and statistical tests methods including Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Knowledge of RS232, USB, I2C, CPLDs, microcontrollers, etc.
  • Working experience with FDA regulated, ISO13485, or other highly regulated environments
