Associate Service Engineer

The Associate Service Engineer provides onsite hardware support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation services for enterprise storage platforms and related technologies. After initial training, this role will perform break-fix maintenance, support customer environments through hands-on service delivery, and assist with installing Rubrik storage systems and PayRange devices.

This is a field-based position requiring regular travel (driving) throughout the assigned coverage area, with occasional travel outside the territory as needed. The Associate Service Engineer plays a key role in ensuring customer uptime and delivering exceptional service in a 24/7/365 support environment.


AS AN ASSOCIATE SERVICE ENGINEER, YOU CAN EXPECT TO:

  • Perform hands-on hardware troubleshooting and break-fix maintenance across multiple storage platforms
  • Schedule service calls and coordinate parts delivery to meet customer service-level agreements (SLAs)
  • Provide onsite “smart hands” support under the direction of Rubrik support
  • Install Rubrik storage equipment, including unboxing, lifting, rack mounting, cabling, and configuration under technical direction
  • Install PayRange devices at multiple customer locations within the assigned coverage area
  • Communicate professionally with customers, TSP technical team members, and external support organizations
  • Coordinate onsite activities with customer technical contacts, including systems administrators and technical managers
  • Maintain accurate service records and provide timely updates regarding ticket status, delays, and scheduling changes
  • Travel outside the assigned territory when business needs require
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule supporting a 24/7/365 service environment
  • Safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally while performing installation and maintenance activities

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE EVERYTHING ABOVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE LIKE:

  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience gained through:
    • Professional work experience
    • Military service
    • Personal technical projects
    • Building, repairing, or upgrading computers and technology equipment
    • Providing technical assistance to others
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Excellent customer service skills with a strong sense of urgency and effective time management
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently while coordinating with remote support teams
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, self-motivation, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and procedures
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field — preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ROLE:

  • Ability to travel regularly within the assigned coverage area with flexibility to travel outside the territory when needed
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and support customers in a 24/7/365 environment
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle for travel to customer sites and maintain active automobile insurance that meets state minimum coverage requirements
  • Must be able to lift and install equipment weighing up to 75 pounds into customer racks
  • Pay: up to $24.00 per hour
