Associate Field Engineer

We are seeking an Associate Field Engineer who is based in the Chicago, Illinois area. This role requires flexibility to travel locally (driving) and nationally (flying + overnights). Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. The company covers business travel expenses. 

The Associate Field Engineer installs, configures, supports, and upgrades Everpure Storage and Cirrus hardware solutions in customer environments. This highly customer-facing role requires extensive travel and hands-on work with enterprise storage infrastructure.

The position works closely with customers, systems administrators, technical managers, and internal technical teams to deliver successful implementations while maintaining TSP’s commitment to exceptional customer service.


ASSOCIATE FIELD ENGINEERS AT TSP TYPICALLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide hardware support, installations, and upgrades for all Everpure Storage and Cirrus equipment
  • Schedule installation engagements and coordinate the delivery of required parts and equipment
  • Perform installation and configuration of Everpure storage solutions, including unboxing, lifting, racking, stacking, and deployment activities
  • Work directly with IT customers and internal TSP teams, including presales, professional services, and support organizations
  • Support customer technical representatives, including systems administrators and technical managers
  • Create and utilize project documentation, runbooks, design workbooks, and statements of work (SOWs)
  • Manage multiple customer engagements while ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Participate in required technical training and professional development activities
  • Travel extensively to customer locations to perform installation and support services
    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 85% of the time
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Successful completion of required training programs (online and occasionally in-person in Dallas, TX)

THE IDEAL PERSON FOR THIS ROLE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE SUCH AS:

  • High school diploma or GED required
    • Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical field preferred
  • Technical knowledge of storage, server, and networking technologies
  • Understanding of storage protocols including FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, and S3
  • Experience with hardware installation and software configuration
  • Experience creating runbooks, design workbooks, and Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Strong customer-facing and consulting experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be reliable, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of multiple engagements
  • Experience with VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, and Linux preferred
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies preferred: Citrix XenDesktop, VMware, Oracle, or SQL

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to lift and install equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Pay: $49,920 – $58,240/year
    • Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried Non-Exempt
    • Overtime: Eligible for overtime under applicable federal and state law
